Hello! My name is Samantha Snyder. I am the Research Librarian at the George Washington Presidential Library at Mount Vernon and a historian of early American women. My work centers on the lives, words, and worlds of eighteenth-century women, especially the stories tucked away in letters, diaries, and other pieces of the historical record.

When I’m not happily reading dead people’s mail, I’m probably listening to Hamilton, visiting a historic house, or following yet another archival rabbit hole.​​​
